Amoghasiddhi
Kadampa Buddhist Centre provides meditation classes and
teachings in various parts of Norfolk, essex and Suffolk.
Taught by lay and ordained Buddhist teachers, the meditation
classes are very easy to understand and apply to our daily
lives. The classes are suitiable for both beginners and
more advanced meditation practitioners.
The purpose of
meditation is to make our mind peaceful by familiarising
our mind with positive and happy states. The more positive
or virtuous our mind, the calmer and more peaceful it becomes.
Meditation is
a simple method to improve the quality of our lives.Through
following clear, practical instructions we can learn to
let go of the causes of our pain and dissatisfaction and
to gain the inner peace and clarity we seek.Meditating
can help you experience inner peace and relax your body
and mind, deal with challenges in a positive way and improve
your relationships.

Our weekly drop-in
classes provide a friendly and informal environment to learn
to meditate. The
class begins with a simple meditation to still the mind,
the teacher will then give a short talk about a particular
subject, and then guide the class in an ending meditation
on that same topic. This
will give us some practical experience we can take away
and apply in our daily lives. Each class is self contained,
so you can come to an individual class or a whole series
of courses.

Day courses are a wonderful way to spend the weekend!
Relax in the company of spiritual friends and enjoy the
refreshing meditations and teachings on these special day
courses. Amoghasiddhi
Centre holds many day courses and empowerments throughout
the year.
An empowerment
is a special blessing ceremony where we make a close connection
with an enlightened being. These blessings can help us draw
closer to the Holy Beings, and ripen our own potential for
pure enlightened qualities. These uplifting empowerments
are open to everyone. The blessing ceremony consists of
chanting, meditation, and guided visualizations. Afterwards,
the commentaries provide an explanation of how we can maintain
the special feeling from the empowerment, and use it to
enrich our daily lives.

Foundation programme
is an opportunity to explore Buddhas teachings in
more detail. Taught by Kadam Chris Heyes, Foundation programme
is designed to help us deepen our experience and understanding
through study, teachings, meditation, discussion and memorisation.
Foundation Programme is held on Thursday and Friday evenings,
7.00pm - 9.00pm at Amoghasiddhi Buddhist Centre.
We are currently
studying "Understanding the mind", a book
by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. You
can find out more about the book, 'Understanding the mind'
by visiting the Tharpa
website .
The fee for Foundation
programme is £35 per month by standing order.
Kadam Chris Heyes
is an inspiring and gifted artist and fully qualified NKT
statue painter. The twice weekly classes at Amoghasiddhi
Centre offer a unique opportunity to learn the complete
path to enlightenment by learning how to draw and paint
Thangkas and Statues in a qualified way with like minded
people. By becoming skilled in this sacred art we will become
more familiar with enlightened beings and be able to help
others to recognise them.
The classes follow
a structured program providing an opportunity to learn all
aspects of this craft, from the basic foundations in drawing,
gilding and painting up to detailed finishing. The
centre also offers a fully equipped art department and students
will recieve ongoing support and practical demonstrations
from Kadam Chris Heyes.
During retreat
we take ourselves away from our usual routines and learn
how to develop the inner peace that we need for our daily
happiness. We practise meditation to create space in our
mind and enjoy a fresh perspective on life. A retreat is
a meaningful holiday that brings great long-term benefit
to our lives.
Each meditation
retreat consists of guided meditations and teachings. There
is plenty of time for walks, meeting with like-minded people,
or just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Centre.
Amoghasiddhi
Centre is an oasis of peace in the heart of Attleborough.
A beautiful 300 year old building with a peaceful meditation
room, art room, lounge and comfortable accommodation, it
is the ideal place to come to refresh and unwind.
